  Had a wonderful stay at the MdR Doubletree in Marina del Rey, CA. The staff was very friendly and attentive. (Although they forgot my breakfast vouchers the first day but let me have a late checkout so that balances out for me!). The pool was nice and warm. The room is a bit older but it was still very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was delicious offering a variety of foods and I could order an espresso and a latte. They had French toast, cheese filled crepes, fruit, yogurt, a power drink (all veggies and fruit), salmon, eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, Across the Street they have a variety of shops, restaurants and even a movie theater. It is a great location near the marina and close enough to the beach. Be careful though if you come in the spring... the fog rolls in around 7:30 pm and doesn't burn off until about 10am making the temperature in that area about 10 degrees colder than normal - Other than that- it was awesome. I would definitely stay here again.

  This hotel was a severe disappointment, especially as a "resort." My husband is disabled, so I chose our room very carefully. I picked one that was close to handicapped parking, and also had a patio door out to the pool (he swims daily to maintain what mobility he has). Big mistake!
  
  The "digital key" did not function for the parking gate, even though the confirmation email from Hilton said it would. Then we parked in the handicapped area, unloaded our bags, and tried to go inside. Again, the digital key did not work. SOOOO, we loaded up the bags again, drove to the only other door for that wing (at the other end of the building), unloaded again, walked all the way down the hall to the other end, and finally were able to get in the room door itself with the digital key.
  
  After getting into the room we found a letter from the hotel with a key card attached. The letter thanked us for using their digital key. The card was for the parking gate, but the letter still insisted that the digital key would work on the outside doors. I tried it again, still no luck.
  
  I opened our patio door to see the beautiful view of....a fence. There was a huge fence all the way around the pool, and no gate to get in. Once again we had to hike the length of the building, go through the lobby, and then to the pool. No thanks, that kind of walking defeats the purpose of a relaxing swim. There was a wheelchair ramp to the pool area right next to our room, but the gate for that only opened from the inside. Useless.
  
  The room itself was okay, but nothing to write home about. Certainly not a "resort" room. Because of the parking/door nightmare, we wound up staying in the room the entire two days, so I got a good, close look at it, especially the terrible closet design (inside the bathroom, with a door that swung open and banged into everything, especially me).

  MdR, I'm very disappointed. Rather than responding to my original post, you posted several fake reviews (without even bothering to change the words!!) to counter my low star rating. I will be reporting this to Hilton Corporate.
